    Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé debuted at the top spot this weekend to $21 million. While it may be a much lower opening than The Era’s Tour, the film scored the biggest first weekend of December in 20 years. The film was barely noticed internationally, with a poor $6.4 million from 94 markets. That said, it scored super high with audiences, landing an A+ Cinemascore, and a 4.5 on Letterboxd. 70% of audiences were female, with another 70% between the ages of 18-34. Black audiences made up 52% of total moviegoers.

    The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes dropped to 2nd with $14.5 million, a 50% drop from last weekend. Its domestic total now stands at $121 million and $244 million worldwide.

    Godzilla Minus One debuted in 3rd with a excellend $11 million from 2,308 theaters. The $15 million film was also a hit with audiences, landing an A Cinemascore and a 4.2 on Letterboxd. It debuted worldwide to $34 million.

    Trolls Band Together ($7.6 million, -57%), Wish ($7.4 million, -62%) and Napolean ($7.1 million, -65%) fell off a cliff and rounded out the Top 6. Meanwhile, Silent Night debuted in 9th place to $3 million.
