Tom Hanks is clearing up confusion after a dental plan ad featuring an AI version of himself began circulating.
The 67-year-old actor is taking the opportunity to warn against AI-generated forms of his likeness.

Tom took to Instagram on Sunday (October 1) to address the video.
He shared a photo with text reading: “BEWARE!! There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me. I have nothing to do with it. – Tom Hanks.”
Tom previously spoke about AI in the film industry, as the Oscar-winner said on the Adam Buxton Podcast in May, “We saw this coming. We saw that there was going to be this ability to take zeros and ones inside a computer and turn it into a face and a character. Now that has only grown a billion-fold since then, and we see it everywhere.”
