It was a dreary weekend at the box office folks! The Nun II stayed on top with $8.4 million. Its domestic total now stands at $69 million (nice!)
Expendables 4, a movie no one really asked for, debuted in 2nd with a franchise-low $8.3 million, well below its $15 million expectations. The $100 million film nabbed a B- Cinemascore and a 2.1 on Letterboxd. Yikes.
A Haunting in Venice followed in 3rd with $6.3 million, a 56% drop from its debut last weekend. Its domestic total stands at $25.3 million. The Equalizer 3 ($4.7M, -35%) and Barbie ($3.2M, -16%) rounded out the Top 5. Barbie’s domestic total now stands at a massive $630 million.
Indie horror It Lives Inside debuted to a 7th place $2.63 million from 2,005 theaters. It debuted to a 2.7 on Letterboxd. Dumb Money followed in 8th place, expanding to 616 theaters and grossing $2.5 million. Oppenheimer rounded out the Top 10 with $1.63 million.
Next weekend: The Creator, Saw X, Fair Play, The Kill Room, Paw Patrol: The Might Movie
