For the first time since the WGA strike began in May, AMPTP and the WGA have issued a joint statement. The groups confirmed they met for bargaining today and will continue talks tomorrow.
Deadline reported that the heads of Netflix, Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros were all present. They alleged that the talks were “very encouraging” and there was “incredible progress.” With that said, keep in mind that Deadline is generally a very studio-friendly trade.
hopefully the guild really is happy with today’s meeting, but i’ll take the deadline report with a grain of salt until we hear more
