-Has been clean for about 5 years.
-Has a 17 year old son.
-He was initially signed on for Terminator 3, which would have given him his biggest payday at that point. He celebrated by going out with friends and having a drug fueled night that ended with a seizure and needing to be hospitalized. Needless to say, the studio dropped him (he would be replaced by Nick Stahl).
-Lately has been making ends meet by doing conventions, Cameos, and trying to get back into the acting game with bigger roles. Seems to be relatively in a better place.
Mike also recently had Robert Patrick (T-1000) as a guest, too. He had addiction issues as well. Before getting Terminator 2, he was doing a lot of partying/drinking/drugs, but got super disciplined and quit cold turkey for the role. But as soon as the film was released, he went back to his partying. He admits his momentum he got from the film was stalled by his alcoholism.
Tis a good listen as well, if you wanna go down the Terminator cast route (Michael Biehn from Terminator 1 and Aliens was also on the podcast twice!) Like Robert and Edward, he ALSO had substance abuse issues.
