    Weekend Box Office: Too cold to go out

    It was a super cold weekend and no one wanted to go warm up at the movie theater.

    Mean Girls kept the top spot with $11.7 million, a big 59% drop from its debut weekend. So far its grossed $50 million domestically. The Beekeeper stayed in 2nd with $8.48 million, a 49% drop from its own debut. Its grossed $31.1 million domestically.

    Wonka ($6.44M, -24%), Anyone But You ($5.4M, -24%) and Migration ($5.3M, -15%) rounded out the Top 5. ABY also passed the $100 million mark worldwide this weekend, while Migration is on its way to passing $100M domestically by next weekend.

    In new releases, I.S.S. debuted in 7th with $3 million from 2,520 theaters. The film received a C- Cinemascore, 27% Recommend from PostTrak and a 2.7 on Letterboxd.

    In indie releases, Queen Rock Montreal, a newer version of Queen’s We Will Rock You concert film for Imax, grossed $2 million from 387 theaters. Origin opened in 125 theaters after its qualifying awards run to gross $875k. All of Us Strangers expanded to 295 theaters and took in $533k, while The Zone of Interest expanded to 82 theaters and grossed $447k.
