It’s a big night for Omar Apollo!
The 25-year-old singer is a first-time nominee at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 5) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Omar is one of ten artists who are up for the Best New Artist award.
A couple months ago, Omar went viral when he responded to queerbaiting accusations with the best tweet. Now he’s celebrating his big accomplishment on the red carpet at the Grammys!
“Being nominated is a trip. I’m not gonna lie, it feels really good. Being on the red carpet with my family here, my brothers who I don’t get to see often. It’s wonderful to be in this place for sure,” Omar told THR.
Omar talked about learning of his nomination and said, “I was sitting on my hotel room bed and my manager tackled me onto the bed. It was a sweet moment for sure.”
