A late follow up to this post, from earlier this year.
According to court documents from September, Rick Astley, 57, and Yung Gravy, 27, settled the lawsuit filed by Astley in January against Gravy (born Matthew Hauri) and his collaborators for an undisclosed sum.
Gravy filed a notice of settlement, while the “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer filed a notice of dismissal in his copyright infringement suit with an order to show cause hearing set for November 8.
The lawsuit, which was originally filed in January in Los Angeles, claimed Gravy used “a deliberate and nearly indistinguishable imitation” of his voice in his song “Betty (Get Money).” The lawsuit had been filed by Richard Busch, the music litigator who won the copyright case over “Blurred Lines.”
