Katy Perry appeals trademark battle loss

Local singing competition judge Katy Perry has appealed the April outcome where she lost a trademark battle with Australian fashion designer Katie Perry (who now goes by Katie Taylor).

The vocally-challenged performer, born Katheryn Hudson, first issued a cease-and-desist to the designer’s brand in 2009, two years after it began operating.

When Taylor refused to comply, “Perry’s camp “chose to simply disregard” her existence and her Australian trademark rights, filling chain stores across the country with Perry merch and other “infringing articles.””

In April, after months of deliberation, Australian Federal Court sided with Taylor, who called it “a win for small business.”

Apparently unaware of her increasing irrelevance, Perry has now appealed the decision seemingly in an attempt to protect her ‘brand’, while simultaneously doing more damage to it by dragging this out even longer and reminding people of details like that she sent emails calling the designer a “dumb b***h”.

ONTD, have you ever sued someone for being born with the name you chose as your stage name?

P.S. this is my first post, sorry if it looks awful
