On August 9th it was announced on her Instagram that Lil Tay and her brother passed away. A day later her family gave a written statement from Lil Tay to TMZ to confirm she was not dead.
Meta has now confirmed they helped her get her account back from a hacker.
However several outlets were contacted on Wednesday by someone claiming to be a rep for Lil Tay’s family with a full press release and said she and her brother had died at their mother’s home in Vancouver. When police and family members were contacted they had no idea about Lil Tay and her brother’s death.
The death statement has been removed from her Instagram and the latest post is from June 2018 once again.
