The Lowe family is dealing with a horrific tragedy.
Actor Chad Lowe and wife Kim Painter announced that their daughter Fiona Hepler Lowe, 13, passed away last week by suicide.
Fiona is the middle child of Chad and Kim, who are also parents to daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Much like his older brother Rob Lowe, Chad is also an actor, and most recently appeared in a recurring role as Rob‘s onscreen brother in 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Rob‘s son, John Owen, posted a poem to his Instagram Story over the weekend. Specifically, he shared Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope Is the Thing With Feathers.”
Here’s the full text of Emily Dickinson’s poem
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.I’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
What does “Hope” mean?
Emily Dickinson‘s poem seemingly portrays hope as a resilient bird that lives inside the human soul and provides comfort during life’s dark moments. The poet seems to suggest that this bird is a comforting force that offers continuous strength without ever demanding anything in return.
Our thoughts go out to the Lowe family during this very difficult time.
