Just when a news story seems impossibly depressing, TikTok can come through and show you a glimmer of hope. In this case, TikTok has been on the damn necks of those seven little shits who (allegedly) raped a female student at Cornell University. The story did not take off in the mainstream news media, at first. Users on social media platforms began posting outraged content decrying the incident, which prompted other outlets to cover it more.
Through some miracle, I have not had any defenders of the young men come up on my FYP, though I’m sure they exist. By and large, users on TikTok are furious at the rapists, the other frat members, Cornell, and the New York district attorney and police officers.
Reminder: Cornell would not be facing this scrutiny now if it had just expelled all of the damn rapists in the first place.
What in the hell is Verity? It does not involve the Colleen Hoover movie, but it kind does involve the Colleen Hoover movie. Verity became a favorite brainrot meme among tweens earlier this summer, around June-July. It comes from a series of videos made by a Canadian YouTuber who goes by ThatMob. The main character is Verity, a sinister AI assistant resembling a giant smiley-face. The meme was largely kept contained within the recesses of Gen Alpha brainrot TikTok, but it has started coming into the mainstream now that people are searching up Verity the movie and coming across a weird smiley-face meme instead.
Someone also made a very annoying song about it. It has more than 35 million views.
Kai Cenat, who has over 46 million combined followers on TikTok and Twitch, has been accused of being a pedophile by one of his friends, Reggie Travers. However, Travers made the accusations while appearing to be under the influence of drugs or while going through a possible mental health episode. Travers also accused Cenat of grooming their friend QuVonn “2xrakai” Linder, but Linder stated that this did not happen. Cenat has threatened legal action against Travers.
A mom at a Giants game was filmed carrying her baby along with an armful of snacks as her husband sat and watched the game. The announcers declared her “mom of the year,” but critics soon pointed out that her husband was just sitting there not helping. However, “Game Mom” came forward to defend her choice, saying that her husband had recently lost a friend and that she wanted to make the game special for him.
A Ukrainian fitness influencer named Vadym Oleynik and his girlfriend, Olena Kravchenko, are facing legal action in Oman for sitting on top of a sea turtle as it laid its eggs. Oleynik and Kravchenko took turns filming each other riding on the turtle and holding the eggs as baby turtles emerged from them. The videos spread rapidly, even though the couple deleted them.
The owner of Ari and Mia’s Small Town Cafe, followed out two customers, confronted them, and banned them from returning for not tipping their servers. Response to the viral video is mixed, with some people praising him and others criticizing him for not just paying his servers more in the first place.
The true crime TikTokers who believe that Patrick Clancy, not Lindsay, killed their children, had a field day this week when Lindsay’s defense attorney said that there is no evidence that she committed the murders.
Alix Earle is dating Zack Bia, who has also dated Madison Beer, Madison Cline, and Olivia Rodrigo. He looks like this. Maybe he also doesn’t read?
Ever since Reesa Teesa made her viral “Who The Fuck Did I Marry?” series, every other person on TikTok has been trying to replicate her success. Like Natalie Sanchez, who has been posting a so-far 38-part series on her divorce.
Influencer Tara Lynn (aka TarasWrld) got married in September. She revealed that her wedding cost $204,000. She paid a hair stylist $850 to put her hair in a slickback ponytail. Tara went viral back in 2022 for spending around $10,000 to go to a Harry Styles concert.
Oh, wow. This woman cut up her her mother’s wedding dress without her permission, then surprised her mom. Her mom started crying, but not from happiness.
Shoutout to
