David Boreanaz is sharing his well wishes to Chad Lowe and wife Kim Painter following the death of their daughter, Fiona, at age 13.
On Thursday, October 1, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum shared a candid photo via Instagram of himself and Painter enjoying a meal with their respective children. Painter was pictured with Fiona and youngest daughter Nixie, 10, while Boreanaz posed alongside his son, Jaden, 24.
“My deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul, Fiona,” Boreanaz captioned the photo. “May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels. Painter commented on the actor’s post, “Love you so much @imdboreanaz – we all do.”
News of the teen’s death broke on Tuesday, September 29.
Lowe, 58, and Painter said in a statement, “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona.”
The couple — who also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie — described Fiona as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time,” the statement said. “If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
On Thursday, the Los Angeles medical examiner said that Fiona was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. local time Tuesday. Her death was ruled a suicide, per the coroner’s office.
Lowe’s longtime best friend, Chris Ufland, also sent his condolences to the Lowe family via Instagram on Wednesday, September 30.
“My best friend for 50 years has gone thru something unimagineable [sic],” he wrote. “My heart goes out to you and the family. This feels incredibly personal to me. Just love my brother. If anyone out there is going thru pain reach out to a suicide hotline or a loved one. Find love and support.”
Lowe, the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, and Painter wed in 2010. The Emmy-winning actor was previously married to two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank from 1997 to 2007.
