Lil Nas X has returned to the music scene with a brand new song!
The 27-year-old entertainer debuted “World’s Greatest,” along with a music video, on Thursday (October 1), marking his first release since March 2025.
Lil Nas X first announced the new track with a personal message from his late mother, Tamikia Hill, who he has dedicated the song and video to.
In a voicemail message from her, she encourages him to “walk by faith, not by sight,” something he says was her “favorite phrase to say. As I move through life it resonates with me more & more.”
The rapper wrote the new song entirely by himself, and it was produced by C.WRAY and Steve Rusch.
In the track, he reflects on “his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most recognizable artists in the world,” per a press release, which adds that it “is both a celebration of how far he has come and a reminder to keep moving forward when the path gets difficult.”
The music video was filmed in his hometown of Atlanta and was directed by Phillip Yourmans.
