Ashley Tisdale‘s husband Christopher French is finally breaking his silence on her “toxic mom group” drama.
As a refresher, if you don’t remember, the 41-year-old High School Musical actress made headlines in January after publishing an essay about the “toxic mom group” that she parted ways with. Some began speculating that the group had celebs in it, including Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, and Meghan Trainor. By the way, Ashley‘s rep did previously speak out about this.
Nearly a year later, Christopher, 44, is sharing his first public comments about the drama.
“We’re doing fine,” the Recovering podcast host told Page Six in an interview published September 30. “She’s a super smart, capable person, and she knows what she’s doing and that’s part of what I love about her.”

Christopher – who shares daughters Jupiter, 5, and Emerson, 2, with Ashley – went on to say that he never felt the need to get involved in the controversy.
“I have no problem supporting my wife completely in her ability to deal with her own interpersonal relationships in whatever way [she] feels is right for her, without getting involved or feeling like I have to speak for her,” he explained.
After describing Ashley as a “really smart chick” and “a very capable person,” the composer noted that understanding where her heart was at is part of “what made it so hard.”
“We are very private,” Christopher added, “but in speaking to something that really matters to her.”
After the essay first made headlines, many celebrities spoke out to share their reactions.
If you didn’t see, Ashley is now working on a “toxic mom” comedy series for Netflix. Find out more!
