Lil Wayne appears to have confirmed that he and Madi Cannon are engaged, just months after he denied the previous engagement reports and announced their split.
The 44-year-old rapper referred to Madi, 23, as his fiancée in a new video shared while he was congratulating fellow Hot Boys member B.G. on his own engagement.
The moment comes after a surprising few months in Lil Wayne and Madi‘s relationship.
Lil Wayne Calls Madi Cannon His Fiancée
In a video posted on B.G.‘s Instagram, Lil Wayne congratulated his longtime friend on his engagement to Brooke Jones.
Wayne then turned the camera toward Madi and revealed that he has some wedding plans of his own.
“And I’m marrying this one,” he said while introducing her as Madison.
He then referred to Madi as “my fiancée” before continuing to congratulate B.G.
Lil Wayne Previously Denied He Was Engaged to Madi
The apparent engagement confirmation comes just a few months after Wayne publicly denied that he and Madi were engaged.
Back in May, it was reported that the rapper had secretly proposed to a woman from Indiana in her 20s, who was later identified as Madi.
However, Wayne addressed the reports in July and said that he was not engaged.
At the time, he described having “a beautiful thing going” with an “amazing person,” but said they had decided to part ways.
“No, I’m not engaged,” he said at the time.
Now, less than three months later, Wayne is publicly referring to Madi as his fiancée.
The couple has not publicly revealed when they reconciled or shared any details about their wedding plans.
Wayne was previously married to his high school sweetheart Toya Johnson from 2004 to 2006. He is also a father of four. He shares daughter Reginae Carter with Toya, whom he married after becoming a father at age 16. Lil Wayne also shares son Dwayne III with Sarah Vivan, son Kameron with actress Lauren London, and son Neal with Nivea.
He was also reportedly engaged to model La’Tecia Thomas before the pair allegedly called off their engagement in May 2020.
