Tank top enthusiast Tom Hiddleston, 45, appears on the October 2026 issue of Men’s Health UK. He is promoting his upcoming movie Tenzing, in which he depicts Sir Edmund Hillary in the first summit of Mount Everest with sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Some fascinating mildly interesting quotes from his interview:
“Running is my happy place. My meditation.”
“Tenzing [Norga] and [Sir Edmund] Hillary were the first men to summit Everest, and his whole story is one of incredible spiritual strength, physical discipline and self-determination. But it’s also a story about courage, friendship and fellowship. Tenzing and Hillary made the impossible possible.
On training for the movie: “It was really intense… So there was a lot of climbing, truthfully, a lot of stamina work – and for me that’s running, endurance and sprints. It looks like it’s an upper-body challenge, but it’s really all in the legs. You might be holding on by a toehold, but you’ve got all that pressure going through your legs. So there were a lot of lunges, deadlifts and burpees.”
On going up against Chris Hemsworth: “Loki is still a very physical role because I’ve had to go toe to toe with all those guys, especially Chris. Sometimes taking the punch means you have to be in just as good a shape as the guy throwing it.” (Sure, Jan.)
Hiddles also took an ice bath plunge with the journalist as a challenge.
