Kelly Clarkson is returning to The Voice as one of the four coaches for season 30, putting renewed attention on her both her career and her life away from the show.
She was previously married to talent manager Brandon Blackstock. They divorced in 2022, and he sadly passed away in August 2025.

Her latest comments indicate that she is single. In July 2026, E! News obtained footage from her Las Vegas residency in which she talked about single life.
“People are like, ‘Oh, why are you single?’ And I’m like, ‘First of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good,’” Kelly said. “And if you didn’t really understand what I meant by that, it’s like you see relationships and you’re like, ‘I am so glad I’m going home alone.’”
“You know what’s not happening in my house? That s***.”
What has Kelly said about dating?
The “Since U Been Gone” singer has said that dating feels awkward and she’s spent much of her life comfortably single. During a January 2024 interview with People, she explained that any future partner would need to have an independent life and be with her because they wanted her, not because they needed something from her.
“I love my kids. I have my family and friends, I have my jobs,” she told the outlet. “It’s all these beautiful things that are working really well.”
Who was Kelly Clarkson married to?
Kelly was married to talent manager Brandon Blackstock. They met through the music industry and started dating in 2012 before marrying in October 2013. Kelly filed for divorce in June 2020 and it was finalized in March 2020.
Brandon died in 2025 at the age of 48 following a private battle with cancer. Kelly postponed some of her performances at the time to be present with their children.
