Harry Jowsey is responding to claims that his televised wedding to Amber Mozo was “fake.”

The reality star selected Amber as his bride during the August 12 finale of Netflix’s Let’s Marry Harry. The pair exchanged vows and rings during a ceremony officiated by Amanda Kloots after Harry chose Amber over fellow finalist Dannelle Davidson.

Questions about the wedding’s legal status emerged after TMZ reported that it could not locate a marriage record for Harry and Amber in the locations connected to production. Sources familiar with the situation also told the outlet that the pair had no legally married yet.

Why Harry says the paperwork wasn’t filed

Harry pushed back against the suggestion that the ceremony was created solely for television in an Instagram video posted on Sunday (August 16).

According to Harry, he and Amber were taken back to the house used by production after completing the ceremony. He said they signed paperwork there, but production did not immediately submit it because a public marriage record could have revealed the show’s ending.

“Obviously, because it’s a TV show, they said, ‘We can’t submit this until after the reunion.’ Because basically, if they submitted it on that day, all the money, all the time, everything like that, everything they invested in the show would have been for nothing because it would have been ruined, and you guys wouldn’t watch the show,” he said.

“So to save the whole experience for all the girls, all the crew, obviously Netflix and everything like that, they held on to the paperwork,” Harry explained in his video.

He says documents were signed, but he does not claim that they have since been filed or that he and Amber are currently recognized as legally married.

“It is out there, but now you will see once the reunion is done and out there if it gets submitted or if it gets torn up,” he added.

TMZ previously reported that a production source confirmed Harry and Amber had not made the marriage legally binding at that point because the team wanted to prevent viewers from discovering the outcome through public records.

When will Harry and Amber reveal their status?

Fans should receive a clearer answer during the live Let’s Marry Harry reunion, which streams Wednesday, August 26, at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT on Netflix.

Harry, Amber, and the show’s former fiancées will reunite to answer lingering questions and share updates about their lives after filming. Content creator Haley Kalil will host the special.

For now, the short answer is that Harry and Amber participated in a televised wedding ceremony and Harry says they signed paperwork afterward, but, no legally filed marriage has been publicly established at this time.

All eight episodes of Let’s Marry Harry are currently streaming on Netflix.
