There is a scandalous kerfuffle amongst old-money Nantucket island folks and new-money influencers! Style influencer Paige Lorenze has a fashion and “lifestyle” brand called Dairy Boy. She mainly sells outrageously priced sweaters and athleisure marketed through sexy milk ads. Dairy Boy opened a storefront in Nantucket, MA, prompting a rush of wannabe social media influencer types rushing to the small island.
This did not bode well with John Sylvia, the owner of Four Winds Craft Guild, a local artisan shop. For reference, they sell baskets that cost $3,400. So, Sylvia posted a “No Influencers” sign in the shop. And WHEW, this pissed off the influencers!
It has apparently become a huge topic among not only influencers but also the elite upper-crusty types of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and other fancy East Coast places (I am not familiar, obviously.) There is a huge debate about whether influencers are bad for Nantucket or whether Nantucket is being misogynist and snooty. (Snooty, yes, misogynist…?) Everyone from Bethenny Frankel to Dave Portnoy has weighed in. One brave dad even ventured into the “Alix Earle” store that he heard about “on the social medias.”
Hilariously, the shop still has both the sign and the Instagram post up and no one affiliated with it seems to care.

Although Sarah had an emergency order of protection against Duffey, he managed to shoot her in the head before taking his own life.
A TikTok bro named Jay Guapõ filmed a couple making out on a public bench in a park. He started telling them they were inappropriate because children were in the park. As it turns out, the man in the couple is much older, and married. The woman is much younger, and an associate attorney at the same firm where he is a partner. So…they having an affair, probably. But the discourse around the video is whether it is appropriate/justified to film strangers making out and post it online, even if they are cheating.
Oh, look, Emilie Kiser finally released a statement and apologized for taking her 16-month-old son on a boat on open water without a life jacket. Mind you, the post was made on July 4, so she waited almost a full month to issue a statement and only after the backlash was un-ignorable. Reminder, Kiser’s 3-year-old son drowned in her backyard pool while her husband was betting on Draft Kings.
So there’s been this trend where parents take their kids back-to-school shopping for the same number of items as the grade that they’re in. For example, 11 items for 11th grade.
