  • A baker who goes by Cake By Kaity accused another baker, Sweet Treats by Ashley, of stealing her recipe for Fruity Pebbles cake pops. Sweet Treats by Ashley used only the cake mix ratio that Cake by Kaity publicly shared. Kaity claims that because her cookbook is copyrighted, her recipes are copyrighted and she threatened to sue Ashley.

Viewers pointed out that Cake by Kaity uses Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker cake mixes, so she’s not exactly very original. Kaity has backtracked, but she’s on the internet’s shit list now.

Fruity Pebbles got in on the drama by posting a Fruity Pebbles cake pop recipe of their own. All this mess over these lumpy little albino turds?

  • If your spouse mysteriously withdrew $20,000 from your joint account without telling you, then planned to take you to the woods on a camping trip, would you still go? I would recommend not! However, this woman named Eliza Joy is going to!

Eliza got caught up in a saga that sounded like the beginning of a Netflix documentary. She claimed that someone hacked into her husband’s account before stealing $19,998 and mentioned that he was taking her on a camping trip with no cell service.

TikTok was certain that her husband was going to alpine divorce her, but the camping trip turned out to be a family event with several of her relatives. The bank has returned the $20,000, fortunately, and it looks like Eliza is not getting murdered.

  • Now, a woman who might be in more trouble is Alex Sunny. She is moving to Afghanistan to be with her husband; they met on SnapChat and she has met him only a few times in person. There is no American embassy in Afghanistan, she has no family there, and she does not speak the language.
  • An artist named EK Dukes made a series of frantic TikToks pleading for money for her GoFundMe because her roommate in New York City was kicking her out unexpectedly. EK made a 30-part TikTok series about it.

However, EK’s roommate Marlyn begrudgingly came online to tell her side of the story. EK had only signed a two-month sublease and knew that her lease was ending in June and she didn’t qualify to join the lease. EK has moved five times in the last year with no one wanting her to stay long-term. Also, EK’s “art” is making polymer clay cats on Etsy and she refuses to get a job.

  • Teens! They’re taking over! Several U.S. cities have experienced so-called “teen takeovers,” or incidents in which large groups of teenagers coordinate on social media to gather in a public location. Some teen takeovers are mere rowdy nuisances, while others have resulted in violent shootings.

  • Nara Smith revealed that Whimsy Lou, the two-year-old daughter whom she shares with Lucky Blue Smith, was diagnosed with cancer last year. She shared that her daughter has received chemotherapy, but did not provide an update on the status of her cancer.
  • A popular tarot card reader who goes by Alex Reads Tarot has turned to Jesus and deleted all of her videos. She joins a handful of other popular creators who denounced their old content and converted to Christianity, including Shaiie_Foeva (the food judge lady) and Bela (Christopher) Delagdo.
  • If you’ve ever had a friend in a toxic relationship who refused to leave her shitty man, you might enjoy the TikTok discourse around, “Leave him or leave us out of it.” It’s a new phrase for women who are emotionally exhausted from hearing about their friends’ unhealthy, dramatic relationships. The topic is controversial because some people feel that it victim-blames women who are trapped in a toxic cycle. But others say that it is necessary, as women have died trying to get their friends away from toxic exes.
  • Remember when there was a conspiracy theory going around on Q Anon that furniture company Wayfair was trafficking children online? Well, now there is a conspiracy theory going around TikTok that Vinted, a platform where users can sell their old clothing is trafficking children online.

Vinted has cooperated with the German police’s investigation, conducted its own internal investigation, and hired an independent investigator called Mimimikama. All organizations found no evidence of trafficking.

  • Speaking of trafficking…there’s a new trend among young women on TikTok to move down to Miami for tricking. Tricking is getting an older, rich man — aka a trick — to spend money on you. Unsurprisingly, many other TikTokers are warning NOT to do this since, you know, it’s a perfect opportunity for someone to traffic you.
  • Peptides are quickly becoming the new anti-aging skincare trend. They are a type of amino acid that you inject into your skin. Lots of influencers are doing them. Doctors say, “Yikes!”

  • Now that it has infected the brains of young men, predictive betting market Kalshi is turning its marketing toward young women. Kalshi has inundated TikTok with ads focusing on pop culture topics such as Love Island to rope in female viewers.
  • Kelsey Pfendler, 32, became the first American woman to complete the 2,400-mile journey by rowboat from California to Hawaii. She also ended up becoming the fastest ever, with a time of 43 days and 18 hours. She documented the entire journey on her TikTok.

  • Olivia Rodrigo’s song “honeybee” is dominating TikTok’s chart of viral sounds. It has led to a trend in which couples post cute videos and photos of them looking at each other.
