The Empire State Building is lit up in blue

The couple are tying the knot in front of 1,000 guests at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Friday (03.07.26) and the iconic Manhattan landmark is helping to bring the couple luck on their big day by being the Opalite singer’s “something blue”.

Referencing the tradition that a bride should have something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, the Empire State Building’s official account on X wrote: “Her something blue [blue heart emoji]

    “See tonight’s lights live: http://esbo.nyc/ecx

“Text CONNECT to 274-16 for real-time lighting alerts.(sic)”

The post was accompanied by a short video showing the lit-up building.

And the entry on the Tower Light’s Calendar website for Friday stated: “LIGHT BLUE SPARKLE

“In celebration of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden.”

The blue item in the verse is meant to symbolise love, fidelity and good fortune in marriage.

According to reports, the wedding festivites at MSG were due to begin with a cocktail hour and after a flood of celebrity guests, including Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Cushner, were seen arriving at the venue, People magazine confirmed at around 7pm that everyone appeared to have arrived.

The black SUVs which had been taking guests to the venue had stopped arriving, and nearby Seventh Avenue has reopened to traffic, though the lane closest to the stadium remains closed.

Most of the crowds who had spent the afternoon hoping to catch a glimpse of Taylor and Travis have also left, but there is still said to be a small group waiting outside.

The celebrations are expected to continue until 4am, with the likes of Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw set to perform.

A Barry White tribute act was seen entering the venue earlier in the day, leading to assumptions they will also perform, while the New York Times newspaper reports Taylor herself will be entertaining the guests.

According to the publication, a man working at the event was overheard saying the Love Story hitmaker was already at the venue preparing for a performance with Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie and Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.
