Kate Gosselin is responding to questions about her son Collin Gosselin.
If you are not aware, the famous family entered spotlight with their TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8. It followed Kate, her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, and their children after they gave birth to sextuplets. Their previously born twin daughters left them with a total of eight children. Collin has been estranged from his mom, and has given some interviews and leveled allegations against her.
It was recently revealed that Collin wrote a memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.” He just gave an interview where he claimed she once used zipties on his wrists and ankles and locked him in a basement.
Now, fans are taking to Kate‘s comments on social media to ask her about the statements he has been making.
“If you are 100% certain that the accusations against you are lies, my suggestion would be to take him to court and sue him for defamation!” one user wrote in the comments of a post (via People).
Kate responded, “I can’t bc I’m a public figure. Rules are different unfortunately. Or I def would!”
Another asked if she would submit to a lie detector test. Her response? “Ha!”
“Malice is one of the hardest things to prove. I tried :(,” Kate said while responding to another comment. “The rules are different for ppl in the public eye. I consulted a high power LA attorney (you’ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that’s what he said. The courts don’t honor it if you’re in the public eye :(“
In 2023, Collin gave a bombshell interview about his estrangement from Kate, her allegedly putting him in an institution before she lost custody of him, when their relationship deteriorated, if he’d reconcile with her, and so much more.
