François Arnaud, David Corenswet, & Yvonne Strahovski have been cast in the Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain. François and David are making their Broadway debuts, while Yvonne made her Broadway debut in 2012. The production will be directed by Tony winner Anna D. Shapiro, who previously staged a 1999 production of the play at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre.
Three Days of Rain premiered off Broadway in 1997 and starred John Slattery, Patricia Clarkson, and Bradley Whitford. A 2006 Broadway production starred Paul Rudd, Julia Roberts, and Bradley Cooper.
Three Days of Rain follows three children of two successful architects as they gather for the reading of their parent’s will in the first act, and the original partners and the woman who came between them in the second act. Director Anna D. Shapiro said: “Three Days of Rain is truly one of the most beautiful plays I’ve ever done or experienced. Steeped in the brilliantly funny and enchantingly complex world of Richard Greenberg, the story follows two generations of New York intelligentsia as they navigate the burden of family, the seduction of art and the necessity of love over time and eternity.”
The play was a 1998 Pulitzer finalist (playwright Richard Greenberg later won a Pulitzer and a Tony for Take Me Out). Three Days of Rain is scheduled to open on Broadway in February 2027.
