West Wilson is speaking out for the first time following news that’s leaving Summer House.
After the season 10 reunion aired on Bravo earlier this month, it was revealed that the 31-year-old TV personality and sports journalist will not be returning for the upcoming 11th season.
While appearing on the Wednesday (June 24) episode of The Broadcast Boys, West shared his first public comments about his exit.
“I wanted to tell it on my own but that [exit rumor] is true,” West said. “In [Bravo’s] defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer.”
West has been in the headlines a lot this year after he confirmed that he and co-star Amanda Batula were dating. The news came as a big blow to their co-star and Amanda‘s close friend Ciara Miller, who previously dated West a few summers ago. This also marks Amanda‘s first public relationship since splitting from husband, and fellow Summer House star, Kyle Cooke earlier this year.
Also during the new interview, West addressed revealing during the Summer House season 10 reunion where he and Amanda, 34, had sex for the first time after they released the statement confirming their relationship in March.
“We f–ked after the statement but we’d been like making out and having sleepovers for a long time,” he said. “I was still doing the wrong thing but I was like … I’m not committing a crime.”
He also addressed speculation that he and Amanda released the public statement because of an apparent video of them “canoodling.”
“I haven’t seen [the video] but I’ve heard from credible sources it does [exist],” West said. “It’s very illegal, I’d like to note.”
He then clarified, “From what I’ve been told it was Amanda and I canoodling in my apartment from one of my neighbors across the street. That’s what kinda kicked off everything into panic, rush mode.”
“I guess I’ve always thought in New York there’s an unspoken rule that we can all see each other across our f–king windows and balconies, like, don’t film each other,” he later argued.
If you didn’t see, a Bravo exec recently addressed Amanda‘s future on Summer House amid speculation the network is “protecting” her.
