Zac Efron has bold plans for a real estate project in Australia.
The 38-year-old High School Musical alum is working on a new, sustainable home almost entirely made out of cannabis plants.
In an Instagram post shared in May, designer Joost Bakker, who Zac is collaborating with on the project, shared an update featuring a group picture of himself, The Iron Claw star, and other crew members.
“Excited to get started on Zac‘s house! Especially want to thank these two legends @main__frank for working so hard to get this project designed and approved!” Joost wrote.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the house will sit on a 128-hectare (316 acres, approximately) lot the border of Queensland and New South Wales. The majority of building materials are to be made from hemp and sourced from a local farm, as well additional items in the house like pillows, curtains, and mattresses. The house will have six bedrooms and a rooftop garden with a large living area.
Joost even told the outlet he wants to try making a hemp drum-made washing machine!
Toward the end of May, the designer shared a joint Instagram post with Plant Bord about how the farmers who grow our food can also produce the sustainable raw materials used to build our kitchens, highlighting the collaboration with Zac involving his planned kitchen and bathroom joinery. His house will use eco-friendly boards to help naturally restore social health through ancient crop rotation practices.
