-Kathy Hilton will no longer serve as Grand Marshal Icon for the 2026 WeHo Pride Parade after discussions between the television personality, West Hollywood officials and event organizers amid community debate over the honorary role.
In a joint statement released Wednesday, the City of West Hollywood, the WeHo Pride production team and Hilton announced that the 2026 parade will not designate a Grand Marshal Icon honoree.
The decision follows community feedback regarding Hilton’s previously announced selection for the ceremonial position. City officials said the announcement generated a range of reactions and prompted discussions about the significance of Pride honorees and their role within the LGBTQ+ community.
“The City of West Hollywood has always believed that Pride belongs to the community,” the statement said. “Since its earliest days, Pride has served as both a celebration and a platform for activism, visibility, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality, dignity, and justice for LGBTQ+ people.”
