If you look closely, Off Campus is already dropping hints about John Tucker’s future.

Off Campus, adapted from Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance series of the same name, follows a group of collegiate athletes as they find love on campus. The first season of the Prime Video series is based on The Deal, in which captain Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) enters a fake-turned-real romance with Hannah Wells (Ella Bright).

Garrett’s three roommates, John Logan (Antonio Cipriano), Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn) and Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks), are each the subject of subsequent Off Campus books. For Tucker, he eventually finds love with Sabrina James in The Goal.

Tucker has yet to meet Sabrina, who hasn’t been cast, by the end of season 1 — though there are some clues to her story arc.

Jalen Thomas Brooks brought Off Campus’ John Tucker to life in the new romance series — but he opted against reading the source material first. “I’m the only person who hasn’t [read it] because of the differences that Tucker has in the series than the books,” Brooks, 24, told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published […]

Tucker Must Keep Watch Over Various Fruit

Throughout season 1 of the Prime Video series, Tucker decides to pledge Dean and Beau Maxwell (Khobe Clarke)’s fraternity. The duo inform Tucker that he has to take care of a grape until further notice in a form of hazing. If the grape gets damaged or lost along the way, Tucker will be required to watch a larger fruit. The grape is later swapped for a strawberry, a banana and a watermelon throughout the episodes.

“Apparently someone said Tucker holding a fruit in season 1 is a foreshadow for his season since babies are usually measured by fruit when they’re in the womb,” one fan tweeted in May 2026, with another adding, “Whoever wrote the fruit gag with Tucker needs a pay raise immediately.”

    What Happens in Tucker’s Book?

At the beginning of The Goal, Tucker and aspiring law student Sabrina hook up in his truck outside of a local bar. Sabrina later discovers that she is pregnant, and she and Tucker begin to plan for a future with their child. The couple ultimately welcome daughter Jamie years before getting married in Kennedy’s The Legacy epilogue.

Tucker and Sabrina eventually welcome a second daughter, Alex, according to Kennedy’s Campus Diaries sequel series.

Elsewhere in the Off Campus show, Brooks’ Tucker attends Dean and Beau’s joint birthday party. The bash is themed “dynamic duos,” so Tucker and Logan go as a bumblebee and a hawk, respectively.

“I’m a bumblebee, and then Logan’s a hawk or a bird,” Brooks told Deadline in May 2026. “[It is a] whole play on words was the birds and the bees, which is kind of correlated to both John Logan and John Tucker’s stories, in a sense. Specifically John Tucker’s. There’s a lot of foreshadowing going on in that episode.”

What Jalen Thomas Brooks Said About His ‘Off Campus’ Future

Brooks is expected to return for Off Campus season 2, telling Us Weekly in May 2026 that he’s already read the first two scripts.

“You’re gonna see a lot of Tucker becoming this guy that he’s known to be in the books and everything,” he exclusively teased. “I’m excited for audiences to see Tucker, [who is] supposed to creep up on people, you know, and have a little bit of romance.”

It’s not known whether Tucker, Dean or Logan’s love stories will take the lead in season 2, though creators have hope for all three to eventually be adapted on screen.

By the time The Goal is adapted for Prime Video, Brooks will be ready for the spotlight.

“I really enjoyed my time of sitting back and watching Belmont lead by example,” Brooks told Us. “What I’ve been doing this first season, in a sense, is just seeing how people step into leadership positions, and, most importantly, we had a conversation, as the guys in the show, [about] how to treat the crew, the cast, leading by example.”

Off Campus season 1 is now streaming on Prime Video.
