West Wilson weighed in on Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s marriage — and rocky relationship — two months before confirming his romance with Amanda.
“They are very different people,” West, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly in January of Kyle, 43, and Amanda, 34, after the then-couple’s marriage struggles were teased in a trailer for season 10 of Summer House.
West explained that Amanda and Kyle “married each other, [but] they’re still the same people. They just have things to work on, like every married couple do.”
He noted, “Obviously, being in a house with cameras, I’m sure makes it a little bit more challenging.”

West confessed that Kyle and Amanda’s season 10 drama, which was filmed in summer 2025, was not “anything super new” for fans or their housemates.
“It’s not the first time that they’ve had, you know, their fights,” he confessed. “We’ve watched Kyle throw temper tantrums. It’s very Summer House core.”
Despite their ups and downs, West told Us, “I love both of them and I want the best for them.”
West pointed out at the time that Kyle and Amanda — who tied the knot in September 2021 — filmed Summer House spinoff In the City after they wrapped season 10 of their Bravo show.
“So, I’m sure a lot of juicy things happened in the fall after we left for summer. I’ll obviously be tuning into that show too to keep my finger on the pulse,” he teased.
West’s comments about Kyle and Amanda came just one week before the pair announced on January 19 that they had separated after four years of marriage.

“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” the former couple wrote in a joint Instagram post. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
The following month, season 10 of Summer House premiered and the cracks in Kyle and Amanda’s relationship were apparent from the first scene. (West, for his part, has been very flirty with ex Ciara Miller all season while also consoling Amanda amid her fights with Kyle.)
As fans have watched the lead-up to their breakup, Amanda has been spreading her wings off-camera. She and West sparked romance rumors in early March after they were spotted together on multiple occasions.

Eagle-eyed fans then noticed that Amanda’s close friend Ciara, who dated West in summer 2023, had seemingly stopped “liking” Amanda’s Instagram photos.
Around the same time, Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard posted a selfie with Ciara, 30, appearing to take her side amid the hookup speculation.
West and Amanda confirmed their relationship status on Tuesday, March 31, in an Instagram Story statement shared on both their profiles.

“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they wrote. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Neither Kyle nor Ciara have publicly addressed Amanda and West’s budding relationship, but a source exclusively told Us on Tuesday, “Ciara is heartbroken by this.”
The insider added, “She and Amanda were very close, and she feels more betrayed than ever by both of them.”
Kyle, for his part, noted during an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen earlier this year that while an Amanda and West romance would take him by “surprise,” he’d ultimately vote “yay” if it made his ex happy.
