    Valerie Perrine Dead: Oscar Nominee & ‘Superman’ Actress Dies at 82 Following Parkinson’s Disease Battle

    Valerie Perrine has sadly passed away.

    On Monday (March 23), Valerie‘s close friend Stacey Souther announced on Facebook that the actress had died at the age of 82 following a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

    “It is with deep sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that Valerie has passed away,” Stacey wrote. “She faced Parkinson’s disease with incredible courage and compassion, never once complaining.”

    Valerie was best known for playing Lex Luthor’s secretary Eve Teschmacher in 1978′s Superman and 1980′s Superman II.

    Prior to her role in the Christopher Reeves-led Superman movies, Valerie played Lenny Bruce’s drug-addicted stripper wife Honey in the 1974 movie Lenny, starring opposite Dustin Hoffman, who portrayed the legendary comedian. The role earned Valerie an Oscar nomination.

    Her finale role was in 2016′s Silver Skies.
