    Kirsten Dunst‘s manifestation skills have worked!

    On Thursday (March 19), it was announced that the 43-year-old Oscar-nominated actress has joined the cast of the upcoming A Minecraft Movie sequel from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary.

    Kirsten joins returning cast members Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Matt Berry, and Jennifer Coolidge.

    Keep reading to find out more…According to Deadline, Kirsten will be playing Alex, one of the primary avatars available to players of the Minecraft video games from Mojang Studios on which the films are based.

    In the first movie, released in 2025, four misfits are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into a bizarre cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home they’ll have to master this world while embarking on a quest with an unexpected expert crafter.

    A Minecraft Movie brought in $957.8 million globally, becoming the second highest grossing movie of 2025.

    In an interview from last year, Kirsten said that she wanted to star in the Minecraft Movie sequel because her kids “loved the first one” and because she’d “like to make a pile of cash.”

    Jared Hess is returning to direct the sequel from a script written with Chris Galletta.

    The sequel is set to hit theaters on July 23, 2027.
