Although critics were whelmed, the movie topped op’s household box office, winning several awards for quotability and rewatchability. It stands out as one of the last hurrahs of many genres now missing from the theater and streamers: teen rom-coms, teen women’s sports films, modern-day Shakespeare comedy adaptations, cross-dressing comedies, etc.
