Matthew Fox is opening up about his return to acting.

It’s been a few years since the 59-year-old actor has appeared on screen, and is only on his third project in the last ten years.

Now, Matthew is starring in the upcoming series The Madison, from Taylor Sheridan, and he recently opened up about returning to acting and taking time off from the business.

“I felt like it was time to engage really intensely with my family,” he told Variety at the NYC premiere of the new show. “I had missed some of their childhood because I was on set all the time with Lost and doing films and promoting everything. It was the right moment for me to step back and take a moment and engage with the people that I love and care about the most in the world, and I did that.”

As for his return to acting, for the first time since 2023′s Caught and 2022′s Last Light, he said this new show caught his attention.

“I kind of missed storytelling, and this opportunity came along from Taylor,” Matthew said. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m in.’”

Matthew previously opened up about leaving acting behind to spend more time with his family.

If you missed it, The Madison is set to premiere the first three episodes THIS Saturday (March 14), with the next three episodes debuting the week after. Watch the trailer here!
