Netflix’s business model famously does not involve regular sale of its original projects on physical media, but it has had a longstanding relationship with the famed boutique distributor the Criterion Collection that has seen various of its prestige projects released. Per Variety, two films from their 2025 slate are due this treatment. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is not a surprise, as Criterion has released a number of his films over the years. More unusual is KPop Demon Hunters; frankly, I am not sure Criterion has ever gotten a film this popular for an exclusive physical release.
