Neil Gaiman has broken a year of blessed silence we all really enjoyed, by posting on Facebook to claim that over seven women were lying about sexual assault allegations. Despite the fact that these women had never spoken, and had strikingly similar stories. And despite the fact that once he said: “On a day like today it’s worth saying, I believe survivors. Men must not close our eyes and minds to what happens to women in this world. We must fight, alongside them, for them to be believed, at the ballot box & with art & by listening, and change this world for the better.”
His claims include the allegations being part of a smear campaign, though he doesn’t claim who has orchestrated said campaign. He also stated that he has used the time away from social media to start writing a new book – his longest yet.
He also linked to a Substack by TechnoPathology, which he claimed was evidence of his innocence.
