Meghan Trainor is speaking out once again amid the “toxic” mom group drama that erupted after Ashley Tisdale’s essay in The Cut went viral.

On Monday, January 12, the Grammy-winning singer posted a playful TikTok addressing the ongoing rumors. The video featured a text overlay that read, “me still trying to convince everyone I’m not involved in the mom group drama.” She captioned it, “I swear I’m innocent 🙏.”

In the video, Meghan lip-synced to a viral audio from Stranger Things season 5, where Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) pleads with her friends to believe her about the show’s villain. The playful clip is Meghan’s latest attempt to address the speculation with humor.

This isn’t the first time Trainor has responded. Last week, she shared a TikTok of herself sitting at a computer, her new song “Still Don’t Care” playing in the background, with the caption, “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.” That video has already been viewed over 2 million times.

Even Meghan’s husband, Daryl Sabara, weighed in on the controversy. Speaking with TMZ on Thursday, January 8, he said, “No drama over here, just trying to keep the kids happy. I don’t really know what’s going on. I hope she’s okay though.”

The drama all began earlier this month when Tisdale, a mom of two, shared her essay, “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,” describing feeling excluded by a group of friends. “I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” Tisdale wrote. “At first, I tried not to take things personally… We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn’t a big deal.”

While Tisdale never named anyone, online sleuths speculated that the essay referenced Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore. However, Tisdale’s representatives quickly denied these claims, saying there’s “zero truth to what online ‘detectives’ think they’ve cracked” and that the essay was about a completely different group.

Adding to the chatter, Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, joined the conversation on Instagram, sharing a photoshopped image of himself on top of Tisdale’s essay feature. He wrote, “A Mom Group Tell All Through A Father’s Eyes. When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers,” signing off with, “Read my interview with @thecut.”
