President Donald Trump is sharing his somewhat limited thoughts on wife Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary.

“I’ve seen pieces of it,” Donald, 79, told reporters of his wife’s upcoming Amazon MGM Studios documentary titled Melania while aboard Air Force One on Sunday, January 12. “It’s incredible.”

The president added that he is not surprised that the film has gained a significant amount of attention ahead of its Friday, January 30, theatrical release.

“I think it’s going to do very … you know, she did a book and the book was a big number one bestseller,” he continued. “And this is a movie, and it seems to be captivating a lot of people’s attention.”

Melania Trump‘s Amazon MGM Studios documentary is on its way to theaters. Amazon MGM Studios revealed that the film, simply titled Melania, will be released exclusively in theaters in the U.S. and select territories overseas on January 30, 2026. It’s unknown when the film will hit Prime Video, where it is set to exclusively stream. […]

Melania follows the current first lady nearly one month before Donald’s second presidential inauguration.

“History is set in motion during the 20 days of my life prior to the U.S. presidential inauguration,” Melania, 55, said in a statement about the doc. “For the first time, global audiences are invited into theaters to witness this pivotal chapter unfold—a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America.”

Variety reported in October 2025 that Amazon allegedly paid $40 million for the rights to the doc, helmed by Brett Ratner. The project is Ratner’s first film since he stepped away from Hollywood after he was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. (Ratner has repeatedly denied the allegations.)

Last week, Fox News reported that Melania would premiere at the newly-renamed Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on Thursday, January 29, with the president and first lady in attendance. There are also premiere events scheduled for New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Orange County, California.

The decision to hold a premiere in D.C. came shortly after the name of the venue that honored President John F. Kennedy was changed to include Donald’s full name.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. weighed in on President Donald Trump’s decision to rename the Kennedy Center to add his own name to the memorial building. In a new interview released on Thursday, January 8, CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes asked RFK Jr., 71, whether he understood why his family members were “upset” […]

“I have just been informed that the highly respected Board of the Kennedy Center, some of the most successful people from all parts of the world, have just voted unanimously to rename the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, because of the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote via X in December 2025. “Not only from the standpoint of its reconstruction, but also financially, and its reputation. Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump, and likewise, congratulations to President Kennedy, because this will be a truly great team long into the future! The building will no doubt attain new levels of success and grandeur.”

Several members of the Kennedy family slammed the name change.

“It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president has sought to rename this great memorial dedicated to President Kennedy,” JFK’s niece Maria Shriver wrote via Instagram on December 18, 2025. “It is beyond wild that he would think adding his name in front of President Kennedy’s name is acceptable. It is not.”

Melania will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide on Friday, January 30.
