The BAFTAs have a weird system with actual member votes and jury votes and they do longlists for the categories. But in most years these are the stongest Oscar precursors we have

The longlists have 10 slots and the actual nominations will be 5 out of these

    notable stuff:

    – like the SAGs they pretty much rejected everything not in english (besides Sentimental Value)
    – Wagner Moura needs a Golden Globes win
    – The Testament of Ann Lee is in big trouble
    – Bugonia is surprisingly strong
    – good showings for: One Battle After Another, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, Sinners
    – Kate Hudson is happening
