It’s been over two decades since American Idol first debuted on television.
The first season of the hit reality TV competition series introduced viewers to an array of talented singers fighting for the title of America’s first-ever “American Idol” back in 2002.
While Kelly Clarkson famously took home the crown, the rest of the Top 10 contestants also made their mark in the years that followed.
Some continued on to pursue successful careers in music, film, and Broadway, while others stepped away from the spotlight for different paths. From chart-topping hits to career changes, the journeys of these Season 1 hopefuls have been nothing short of fascinating.
Sadly, one of the original Top 10 has since passed away.
