Bravo fans might want to keep their eyes on Venita Aspen and Carl Radke. The Southern Charm star is opening up about spending time with the Summer House OG — and it sounds like sparks may officially be flying.
“We have now gone on one date, which is very nice,” Venita, 32, revealed on Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, per Us Weekly. According to Venita, the duo kicked things off at Soft Bar before heading to a nearby Mexican restaurant for dinner.
And this wasn’t just a quick bite. “We had to be asked to leave,” Venita shared, explaining that they had “shut the place down.”
“I think it lasted for almost five hours. We were together, the whole day, for about five hours,” she added, noting that the date took place “two weeks” before the podcast episode was recorded.
Venita explained that she first met Carl, 40, through mutual friend and Summer House cast member Ciara Miller — and while their connection wasn’t immediate, one moment changed everything.
“I feel like what really kind of sparked everything is when we did NBC Upfronts last year, there was a photo of us and our hands were just touching,” she recalled. “Mind you, I never really thought anything about him until that moment. Then the internet blew it up.”
After fans ran with the speculation, Venita admitted that she and Carl leaned into the buzz. The two began “kept being cheeky with each other” publicly, fueling even more romance rumors among Bravo viewers.
Venita also addressed Carl’s sobriety, making it clear she wanted to be respectful before their date. “I literally texted him before we went on the date, and I was like, ‘Hey, like are you OK with if I drink?’” she said.
His response surprised her. “He was like, ‘Well, first of all, no one’s ever asked me that.’ I’m fine to not drink, and if someone’s trying to date someone or get to know someone better, they might not want their partner to drink. I was just like, ‘Oh, let me ask.’”
Venita ultimately decided to keep it low-key. “I had one margarita that lasted me the whole night,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Let me just make sure I drink slow.’ I don’t want to drink too much [and] make a fool of myself.”
Romance rumors surrounding Venita and Carl first picked up steam at BravoCon 2025 last month when Carl publicly mentioned her during a panel.
“I had a great time hanging out with Venita yesterday,” he said at the time, also revealing that she had previously visited the Hamptons house with Ciara. “She’s beautiful, she’s really cool.”
