This exchange begins after Arnaud was asked about the show’s authenticity. Arnaud explained that they’re being authentic to the characters and their stories. He also goes on to explain it’s meant to be romantic fantasy while acknowledging that the gay experience is not a monolith. He further explains that he can enjoy stories that don’t directly replicate his life and he thinks that’s why women are also enjoying the show and he doesn’t find that strange.
