On Friday, November 14, Tony winner Cynthia Erivo appeared in a video alongside newly retired American Ballet Theatre ballerina Misty Copeland for a reimagined take on the iconic Wicked ballad “No Good Deed.”

The video opens with the two legends standing several feet apart in a chandelier-lit room. As Erivo sings over a gorgeous string accompaniment, she gradually gets closer to Copeland, who dances in perfect harmony with the music.

According to the press release, “This raw new interpretation takes ‘No Good Deed’ in a strikingly different direction from the version audiences will hear in Wicked: For Good. Recorded live, the performance unites two artistic luminaries in perfect sync — a cinematic fusion of music and movement that embodies grace, strength, and transformation.”

After Erivo hits her last high notes, she and Copeland take hands and strike a breathtaking pose, each facing outward. The two then embrace, sharing a warm hug, smiling at one another.

Fans have been flooding the comment section with praise for the iconic performance.

One wrote, “You got these two masters of their craft in one room?! 😍.” Another said, “Cynthia’s version of no good deed is a masterpiece I can’t wait to hear it again once the sound track is out.” A third fan chimed in writing, “The most perfect duet.”

This isn’t the first time Erivo and Copeland have collaborated together. Almost a decade ago in 2016, the pair performed Summertime from the Broadway musical Porgy and Bess

Alongside the stunning video, Erivo shared on Instagram, “Sometimes different forms of art collide to create one! I make music with my voice and @mistyonpointe used it to paint pictures with her body. Thank you @cosmopolitan for bringing us together.”

This reimagined performance of “No Good Deed” comes just in time for fans to get excited about Wicked: For Good, the second installment of Wicked which hits theatres November 21.

The cast includes Erivo, alongside more big names like Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh.
