    New York Jets Cornerback Kris Boyd in Critical Condition After Shooting: Report

    New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is reportedly in critical condition after he was shot in Manhattan early in the morning on Sunday, November 16.

    According to the New York Post, Boyd was shot on West 38th Street near 7th Avenue around 2 a.m.

    Law enforcement told the New York Post that Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after a dispute turned violent. The gunman fired two shots.

    A Jets spokesman issued a statement to ESPN reporter Rich Cimini after the shooting.

    “We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” the spokesperson told ESPN.

    Boyd was reportedly in and out of consciousness and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition.

    According to reports, witnesses were uncooperative with police officers after the suspect fled the scene.

    Officials say the incident is under investigation and there have been no arrests.

    After finishing his college career at University of Texas, Boyd started his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2020 and had stints with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans before signing with the Jets before this season.

    He has been on the injured reserve list since August 18. He has not played yet this season.

    The Jets are not in action on Sunday, after losing to the New England Patriots on Thursday, November 13.
