Hilary Duff announced that she’s releasing her first new single in 10 years, which will be called “Mature.”

“So happy this is finally yours to hear. Been keeping this one quiet too long. My new single Mature is out Nov 6,” Duff, 38, wrote via Instagram alongside the song’s cover art, which showed her looking off camera as she donned a serious expression.

Shortly after Duff made the announcement, several fans took to the comments section to express their excitement over the news. “Aaaahhhhh BORN READY!! LET’S GO MY QUEEN,” one fan commented, while another person wrote, “Omg, I love you so much, i have been waiting for this with much love.”

Duff announced the new single after she confirmed she was working on new music in September when she signed a contract with Atlantic Records.

At the time, a press release also revealed she was releasing a docuseries that will follow her “long-awaited musical return and personal journey, offering an unfiltered vignette into Hilary’s world.”

“Embracing the ups, downs and everything in between, fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade,” the release stated.

While Duff has been consistently working over the past decade, she has mostly focused on her acting career and starred on the TV shows Younger and How I Met Your Father.

She has released five albums over the years with her most recent album, Breathe In. Breathe Out, being released in 2015.

Not much is known about the vibe for her upcoming album, though Duff recently told Variety that she’s excited for her longtime fans to hear her new music.

“I have been hard at work in the studio with my husband [Matthew Koma] and a few other amazingly talented people,” she told the outlet in October. “[My fans] are going to hear something so soon, like in the blink of an eye.”

She went on to share that she “always knew [she] was going to return to music.” Duff continued, “I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100 percent ready. Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say.”

“This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level,” the Lizzie McGuire alum added of the new project.

After the interviewer noted that her LGTBQ+ fans were excited to hear her new music, Duff responded, “You know it’s all for them. It’s just to impress them.”
