Ahead of its return, King of the Hill has announced several new guest stars in their revival season. Some are playing new characters while others are voicing known characters.
“It was important in the show, the world has changed a little bit since Hank and Peggy have been gone. Casting has changed a little bit too since Hank and Peggy have been gone, as far as, actors fit the characters that they’re portraying,” said new co-showrunner Saladin K. Patterson at San Diego Comic Con about the casting changes.
Keith David and Anthony “Citric” Campos join as new characters. Kenneth Choi will voice Ted Wassanasong, Ki Hong Lee will voice Chane Wassanasong, and Tai Leclaire will voice Joseph Gribble.
Notably, Luanne and Lucky will not be recast.

Reviews for the King of the Hill revival are starting to pour in, and they’re looking good! On both RottenTomatoes and MetaCritic, the critical consensus leans majority positive with reviewers citing the show’s sincerity and heart. Bobby’s storyline is often stated as the strongest thread of the revival.
There are light critiques of the show’s tightrope attempt of writing conspiracy theorist Dale in this current landscape, and the show’s not perfect, but the revival is otherwise getting high praise.

Ahead of all 10 episodes being dropped on the same day (Monday, August 4), Hulu’s already released the episode summaries and thumbnails.
