Since the Hilton Honors Amex has offered a few different types of welcome bonuses, opinions of the best offers may vary.
If you value free night rewards highly, we’ve seen offers as good as earning 70,000 bonus points and a free night reward after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months of card membership.
A free night reward can be redeemed for between 5,000 and 95,000 points for a standard room, per Hilton’s website. However, some free night awards could require up to 120,000 points, so the value you receive from this certificate depends on the property you redeem it with.
For those who prefer to just earn points, we’ve seen offers of up to 130,000 bonus points, split up by two minimum spending requirements. You’d earn 80,000 points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first three months of card membership. You could stack on another 50,000 bonus points if you spent $5,000 total on purchases in the first six months of card membership.

The Hilton Surpass is a solid mid-tier option for those loyal to Hilton or who find the card’s perks — such as automatic Hilton Gold status — especially beneficial.
