The newest iteration of Fantastic Four has scored at the box office this weekend. The Fantastic Four: First Steps made $118 million domestic, which is above recent projections, but below what it looked like the take would be from showings on Friday, and also below the recent Superman opening. Globally, it has made $218 million, and should be able to leg out decent grosses with good reviews and little in the way of competition on the horizon.

Superman, who has led the last two weeks at the box office, fell 57% this weekend to second place with a $24.9 million take. The film has made $289.5 million domestically, and $502.7 million globally

In third place was Jurassic World: Rebirth, which made $13 million domestically, and has now pulled in $718 million globally. This is impressive for this year’s box office, but nowhere near the billion dollars each movie in the last trilogy pulled in at the box office.

F1: The Movie pulled into fourth place with $6.2 million, and has made $165.6 million domestically and $509 million overall. This is an excellent result for an Apple property, which to this point have not found much box office success.

The Smurfs rounded out the top five with $5.4 million, dropping 50% from its debut last weekend. It has made $69 million worldwide on a $58 million budget.

Meanwhile, I Know What You Did Last Summer tumbled 60% to sixth place, and made $5.1 million for a domestic take of $23.5 million, and around $40 million globally.
