Conner Smith is breaking his silence after being involved in a fatal accident.
The 24-year-old country singer was involved in an accident last month in Nashville that lead to the death of a 77-year-old woman. Conner was issued a misdemeanor citation after he struck and killed the pedestrian in a Nashville crosswalk.
On Friday (July 11), Conner broke his silence on the situation and released a statement on the accident.

Conner shared a statement on his Instagram just over a month after the accident took place.
“Not a day has gone by that I haven’t grieved, prayed, and mourned for Ms. Dobbins and her family. My heart is broken in a way I’ve never experienced, and I still struggle to fully process the weight of it all,” Conner wrote in the statement in reference to the victim of the accident.
He went on to request that his followers continue to keep his victim’s family in their thoughts. Conner also acknowledged the break he’s taken from performing since the accident and wrote, “Out of respect for everyone involved and to give space for grieving, I made the decision to step away from shows these past few weeks. I have always found that making music and playing shows is a place of healing for me – but for this moment, it was important for me to take time away.”
