Hallmark stars Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum’s real life love story feels a lot like the network’s iconic romance movies — and fans are loving it.
Krakow’s Elizabeth Thornton might have romanced several suitors on Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, but off screen she only has eyes for Rosenbaum, who plays Mike Hickam on the series.
Krakow and Rosenbaum have known each other for more than a decade after costarring on WCTH since 2014, but it wasn’t until 2022 that eagle-eyed fans noticed they might be more than just friends and costars.
The pair were spotted on a romantic vacation with fellow WCTH couple Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace in spring 2022, but didn’t comment speculation they were dating. The following year, Krakow and Rosenbaum adopted a dog together and in June 2025 they became husband and wife.

Krakow began playing Elizabeth Thornton on When Calls the Heart in 2014, leading the series for 12 seasons as of March 2025. Rosenbaum, meanwhile, has been part of the cast since day one as well, portraying Mike Hickman.
March 2022
Krakow and Rosenbaum sparked romance speculation as they began posting more and more “date night”-looking photos via social media with pals McGarry and Wallace.
May 2022
Rosenbaum shared photos from his and Krakow’s couples’ trip with McGarry and Wallace via Instagram in March 2023, one year after they returned from the Amalfi Coast. When the vacation was happening in real time, many fans wondered whether Rosenbaum and Krakow were an item, as McGarry and Wallace were already dating.
“One year ago, @kevin_mcgarry_w @imkaylawallace @erinkrakow and I learned to make Limoncello together in Amalfi,” Rosenbaum captioned the snaps. “I’m reliving/missing that trip with a fresh batch I just made with homegrown lemons (last pic)! La dolce vita!🍋.”

Rosenbaum and Krakow celebrated WCTH being renewed for season 10 in Venice, Italy, with McGarry and Wallace. The couple, however, didn’t publicly comment on their relationship status at the time.

Krakow and Rosenbaum were on hand when McGarry proposed to Wallace in New York City. “Wishing our friends @imkaylawallace & @kevin_mcgarry_w a massive CONGRATULATIONS on their engagement!!!” the actress wrote via social media. “So happy for you both and thrilled we were all able to celebrate together in the big apple!”
January 2023
The pair adopted their first dog together. “Meet Willoughby. We adopted him a week ago and I already can’t imagine life without him. 😍,” Krakow confirmed via Instagram, tagging Rosenbaum.
March 2023
“Happy Birthday Willoughby’s Dad! Life woof be ruffer without you in it. RRR. 🐾,” Krakow wrote via Instagram, revealing for the first time publicly that she and Rosenbaum were an item.
July 2023
Krakow and Rosenbaum enjoyed a day on the Warner Bros. lot and visited the Friends set with McGarry and Wallace.
December 2023
One year after witnessing McGarry and Wallace’s proposal in NYC, the four friends returned to the Big Apple. (McGarry and Wallace tied the knot in September 2024.)
February 2024
Rosenbaum confirmed his relationship with Krakow after years of speculation by sharing a photo of her on Valentine’s Day. “First thing I see when I wake up. Last thing I see before sleep. Happy Valentines Day ❤️❤️,” Rosenbaum wrote via Instagram alongside a snap of Krakow with their dog.
Krakow, meanwhile, shared her first kissing photo with Rosenbaum in celebration of the love holiday.
