Cynthia Erivo delivered a great comedic moment during the 2025 Tony Awards that involved Oprah Winfrey.
The 38-year-old Wicked: For Good star turned the tables on the former talk show host by gifting her a (toy) car, recalling Oprah‘s iconic “You get a car!” giveaways on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Oprah‘s longtime best friend Gayle King revealed in a recent interview how Oprah actually loved that moment, and that she had no idea it was going to happen.

“Oh, she loved that,” Gayle told People. “That is so iconic. That is such an iconic thing. It’s associated with Oprah. It’s always [been] a big compliment, always.”
“I knew [Erivo] was going to do that,” she added. “I loved that moment.”
During the moment, Cynthia went up to Oprah and told her to check under her chair, where she found a small bag. In the bag was a box of Junior Mints, a bag of gummy bears and at the bottom, a small toy car.
